Getting through the Big Day
Here’s a near-complete guide to wedding planning and etiquette. Has it occurred to you, for instance, that the cute little vintage car you want to hire might leave you with a cricked neck if you plan on having a tall hairstyle? And how do you prevent your guests from murdering the photographer after s/he has kept them waiting in the graveyard for an hour just in case the sun comes out and improves the lighting? Seriously - this site has really sound advice for any wedding participants, on speeches, supersititions, duties and customs.

Where does all the money go?
Think you might be spending too much on your wedding? Not sure what a wedding might actually cost? This list of the average costs may help you to plan properly for your big day.

On average, we spend between £12,000 and £17,000 on a wedding in the UK, though of course you can spend loads more and certainly a bit less.

Where does the money go? Some typical costs are: bride's dress - £700; groom's suit hire - £150; bridesmaids' dresses - £500; going away outfit - £150; cake - £200; car hire - £300; church/registry fees - £350; flowers - £300; honeymoon - £3,000; photography/video - £600; reception - £5,000; rings - £900; invitations, place cards etc - £300. These are just averages, and not everything is covered here, but you can see how it all mounts up. Make sure you plan well and try to stay within a budget that is realistic for you, whilst also keeping a "contingency fund" for last-minute expenses.
